Himara Old City

Himara Old City and its 2400 year old castle lie at the top of the hill and worth a visit. 

This circle-tour follows some short asphalt road into the valley and than changes into a 4×4 dirt track it crosses often dried out riverbed. Starts to climb through curvy and increasingly rocky terrain towards the mountains. Along the track some old bunkers guard the valley and who turns the head back gets rewarded with a combined view of the valley, Himare, the Ionian Sea and some greek islands. At the highest point of the tour you find the ruins of the old city and a great view. The tour descends again on a 4×4 track all downhill and back to modern Himare.
